Save Our Canyons is a non-profit organization founded in 1972 in response to growing threats to natural spaces along the Wasatch Front. Since its beginning, Save Our Canyons has been instrumental in the protection of various public lands in Utah, and has worked closely with the 2002 Salt Lake Olympic Bid and Organizing Committees to keep the games away from sensitive areas of Utah's wilderness. Save Our Canyons has worked closely with local, state, and federal officials as well as several other conservation and outdoor recreation groups to regulate construction developments in the canyons and to protect natural spaces for public enjoyment and environmental conservation.
